Perdido Key Florida

Not many places can claim to be 'lost' and also be one of the best FL beach vacation spots. Perdido Key, Florida, sometimes called the 'Lost Key', is one of the best kept secrets in the Sunshine State. It the narrow strip runs approximately sixteen miles long and is located between Orange Beach, AL and Pensacola Beach, FL. This barrier island runs right along the Gulf of Mexico's emerald green water and sugar white beaches.

There are plenty of Perdido Key FL resorts and places to stay such as condos, timeshares, FL motels and resorts. Also you will find an abundance of things to do and restaurants to enjoy during your stay in Perdido Key Florida. As you explore the beaches, you may want to work your way to the eastern end of the island and visit the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is along Johnson Beach. This coastal area is warm and sunny most of the year, especially April through September. You should be prepared for quick approaching rain storms and afternoon thundershowers.

After soaking the sun at the beaches, you may also want to relax and spend time in the Big Lagoon State Park or the Perdido Key State Park. Either FL location promises to provide a spot where the whole family can relax and enjoy the day. The parks have facilities and places to bbq and do a little outdoor grilling. The natural habitat will also provide some entertainment, as you may see raccoons, opossums, gray foxes, great blue herons, seagulls and other wildlife.
