The middle of the Florida Keys is where you will find Marathon Key, FL. A paradise that you might just drive by if you were only headed down to the end of the FL Keys. Marathon Key is located on U.S. 1, the Overseas Highway, south past Islamorada and then just past Long Key. The city is an area of the middle keys that encompasses Boot Key, Vaca Key and Knight's Key.

The middle keys of Florida is a great destination especially for sport fishermen, as it is world renowned for the fishing and boating activities that are available. Marathon Key Florida is loaded with charter boats and fishing guides that are ready to fulfill your sport fishing dreams. Local marinas are an excellent resource when inquiring for recommendations and availability of fishing captains during the time of your stay. There are a wide variety of fishing activities you can enjoy such as deep sea fishing, back country fishing, spearfishing, lobster tickling and wreck diving. The area has an abundance of coral reefs, wrecks, seamounts and other areas to troll, fish and explore. You can explore the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico and Florida Bay on the other side.

This city has an airport named the Florida Keys Marathon Airport, if you may be interested in flying in, instead of driving in from the upper part of FL. Places to stay include condos, timeshares, cottages, hotels and resorts. However, during certain times of the year, the accommodations will fill up, so it is a good idea to make your vacation and travel reservations early.
